London’s Urban Jungle

Nature has always been an important part of my painting, but London made me see it in a different way. Behind the busy streets and buildings, I discovered a surprising world of parks, gardens, old trees, lakes and wild corners – a green side of the city that is constantly changing with the seasons, light and weather.

I was drawn to the contrast between the urban and the natural. One moment I could be surrounded by buildings and traffic, and a few minutes later find myself walking beneath old trees or beside the water. These places became a strong source of inspiration for my paintings.

I am not interested in simply capturing a particular place. What stays with me is its atmosphere – the colours, changing light, reflections, textures and small details. Through painting, I try to transform these impressions and memories into colour, movement and emotion.

London showed me that nature can appear in the most unexpected places, even in the heart of a busy city. This meeting of the urban and the natural has become an important part of my inspiration.

My favourite London green places

1. Greenwich Park – my favourite view

One of my favourite places for its beautiful view of London. The park combines old trees, gardens and open grassland with the city skyline in the distance.

2. Hyde Park – open space in the heart of London

A large and peaceful green space in the centre of the city, with wide lawns, old trees and water. I love its feeling of openness despite being surrounded by London.

3. Victoria Park – relaxed and local

A spacious park with gardens, trees, water and plenty of everyday life. It has a relaxed atmosphere and feels closely connected to the local neighbourhood.

4. Kew Gardens – a botanical world

A special place for discovering plants, colours and different shades of green. I loved the feeling of being surrounded by nature and forgetting that I was still in London.

5. Richmond Park – the wild side of London

A huge park with ancient trees, open grassland and wild deer. It feels more like the countryside than a park in a big city.

6. Sky Garden – a garden above the city

A unique place where plants, glass, light and the London skyline come together. I love the contrast between nature and the city seen from above.

7. St Dunstan in the East – nature among the ruins

One of the most unusual places in London. Green plants grow among the remains of an old church, creating a peaceful and almost magical atmosphere.

8. Green Park – simplicity and calm

A quiet green space close to Buckingham Palace. Its old trees, open grass and simple landscape create a peaceful escape from the busy city.

9. Sunset on the Thames

The Thames is another important part of my London inspiration. I love watching the changing colours of the sky and the reflections on the water, especially at sunset. The river can make even the busiest parts of London feel calm for a moment.
