After hectic months in London, I moved to the English countryside for a while – to Folkestone , a picturesque seaside town near the iconic Dover Cliffs . This stay brought me a completely different rhythm of life, more silence, more space to create and a new perspective on the nature that surrounded me.
Endless horizons and changing scenery
The White Cliffs of Dover themselves have been the strongest inspiration for my work . The views from them were mesmerizing – the endless sky, the changing light and the sharp, dramatic line of cliffs meeting the sea. These scenes left a deep visual impression on me and naturally translated into my paintings. Watching the horizon, the dynamics of the clouds and the subtle transitions between sky and sea helped me discover new ways to capture the atmosphere of space and light on canvas.
Creation in a glass conservatory
I was staying with my cousin in Folkestone, where I was helping to renovate the interior of an old English house . Every detail in this house told a story, and working on its restoration reminded me of the beauty of transformation – like layering paint on a canvas and gradually giving a painting new life.
The best place to paint was the glass conservatory , where I could create surrounded by nature. The light was constantly changing – on sunny days it was soft and warm, while in the rain the droplets running down the glass created a strange mist that blurred reality. This space became my personal studio, where I captured the changing atmosphere of Folkestone and its cliffs.

The countryside that shaped my work
My stay in Folkestone showed me a completely different way of perceiving space and colour. The boundary between sea and sky, the contrast between the sharp cliffs and the softness of the light, the constant change of atmosphere – all of this became an integral part of my artistic work . This peaceful yet dramatic corner of England gave me a new perspective on composition, perspective and natural scenery, which is reflected in my paintings today.
