Harmony Between Past and Present
The art of Sára Čambálová is a symbiosis of past and present, where classical elements intertwine with a contemporary visual language. Her work, encompassing painting and sculpture, draws inspiration from ancient sculptures and the rich landscapes of Italy and England, a combination that is reflected in her distinctive artistic expression.
Her Journey
Sára began her artistic path at the School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Her passion for sculpture led her to Venice, where she studied figurative sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Living in Venice—a city steeped in history and art—was a formative experience for her. It was there that she fully realized the power of classical aesthetics and their timeless legacy. During her studies in Italy, she explored new sculptural techniques and worked with a variety of materials such as plaster, resin, wax, and glass.
Later, her artistic journey expanded through experiences in London, where she engaged with contemporary artistic approaches and further developed her painting practice. Here, she focused more intensively on graphic work and on experimenting with painting on unconventional materials such as glass and aluminum. London, as one of the world’s major centers of contemporary art, offered her a unique opportunity to draw inspiration from bold approaches and unconventional creations. Exhibitions of progressive international artists motivated her to experiment and to seek new forms of expression that now permeate her own work.
A Dialogue Between Tradition and Modernity
In her art, Sára masterfully combines traditional techniques with modern approaches. Her experience in restoration work on sculptures and architecture has given her precision and a refined sense of detail, while her time in London and Venice opened doors to contemporary artistic trends. This combination allows her to create works that are not only visually striking but also conceptually thoughtful and relevant.
Through her art, she builds a bridge between history and the present, inviting viewers into a world where tradition meets innovation and nature intersects with culture. Her paintings and sculptures reflect a profound respect for history while simultaneously seeking new forms of expression that resonate with audiences across generations. She has exhibited internationally, particularly in Italy and England.
ABOUT
Her paintings are inspired by nature and its elements. She engages in painting with feelings connected to specific natural or figural motifs, similar to the Impressionists, capturing brief moments and emotions from nature with unconventional, expressive brushstrokes. In her painting process, she mostly paint in nature. Besides expressive painting, Sara also focuses on figurative sculpture, in which she captured woman feelings in specific life moments connecting historic antic motives with modern themes of women's life.

Symbolism and Inspiration
Ancient sculptures, with their perfect anatomy and timeless aesthetics, are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for her. Her works reflect a deep respect for history as well as a desire to reinterpret classical motifs. She works with diverse materials such as bronze, glass, and epoxy resins, bringing new meanings and expressions into her sculptures. She also incorporates symbolism connected to archetypal themes—femininity, strength, harmony, and inner calm.
Italian and English landscapes, with their diversity and depth, strongly influence her painting as well. From the dramatic coastlines and forests of England to the warm light and gentle lines of the Italian countryside, all these elements resonate throughout her work. In painting, she captures the atmosphere of places through expressive brushstrokes and a play of light and shadow, creating works with a deep emotional undertone. Natural elements often merge with figurative compositions, forming a unique visual symbolism.
